A neighbor, An Advocate, An Attorney
Seeking election to the House of Representatives in California’s 14th Congressional District.
A fresh voice for the new direction of the Democratic Party!
Abrar Qadir (D) is a candidate who ignores Corporate donors and Foreign Interest lobbies – fighting for Due Process, safe and healthy Families, and a peaceful Foreign Policy.

About Me
I am a licensed attorney, a newlywed husband, and a daily BART rider.
I spend my free time reading history books, playing tennis, and studying new languages on Duolingo.
I had a happy childhood in Pleasanton, right here in the heart of District 14. I grew up watching tons of football, and playing with great teammates at Amador Valley High School (Go Dons!).
I graduated from UC Berkley, where I made the best friends of my life walking up and down Telegraph Avenue.
I then studied law in Washington D.C., just steps from the Capital at Georgetown University.
I returned to the Bay Area, where I passed the California BAR, and have now spent over 10 years practicing Immigration Law in San Francisco, and more recently in Concord.
As an attorney, I port my heart into making sure that immigrants facing deportation hearings are treated with dignity and receive Due Process.
Vision
A United States where democracy outweighs corporate power, foreign policy reflects human rights and peace, workers and families thrive with fair wages and housing, and every person – regardless of background – is treated with dignity under the law.
Mission
To defend justice, dignity, and opportunity for all – by protecting immigrant rights, holding the wealthy accountable, ensuring transparency in government, and building an America rooted in fairness, compassion, and community.
Inspired Leadership
Political motivations
Politically I have been inspired by the speeches of Barack Obama, and the work of Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and more recently, NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
I have a profound appreciation for our country’s constitution, which I studies in depth at both UC Berkley and Georgetown University.
It is with deference and love for that constitution that I begin my campaign.
I want to see a United States that fosters a sane and compassionate Capitalism.
We should have a country full of wealth, risk takers, and innovation – but there is no reason to let Big Tech and Big Pharma billionaires run away with our democracy, our healthcare, and our social security.
I want to see a United States that can defend itself better than any country on the planet, that wields influence around the world.
I don’t want to see a United States that undermines the influence, and insults its taxpayers, by participating in Genocide, and letting AIPAC dictate our foreign Policy.

Foreign policy
Sever with AIPAC and Israel First Policy
No War With IRAN
Rectify Crisis in Gaza
Protect Boycott Rights
Taxation & spending
Audit Military Spending
Our military budget is famously more than the next 9 countries COMBINED. That alone tells us that we can still have the most fearsome military in human history at a much lower cost.

NGO Transparency
I advocate for unprecedented transparency in the awarding of government contracts to any NGOs. The American people’s trust in the government’s spending decision is in steep decline is in steep decline, and the only way to remedy that is through transparency.

Tax the Mega Rich
The wealthiest among us, such as Elon Musk, are fixated on transhumanism and colonizing Mars – we must tax these robber barons at a higher level in order to save the planet we already live on!
Tax Incentives for hiring Americans
Far too many skilled Americans have been put through the frustrating betrayal of training their own replacements, who live in other countries. Our tax code should create incentives for hiring American, with some form of tax penalty for foreign hires.

Rebuild Federal Agencies
The FAA and Department of Education are just 2 of the federal agencies which have been gutted by the meanspirited and boneheaded decisions of the Trump Administration. They are also 2 of the departments which provides safety and benefit to ALL Americans. These and other federal agencies deserve much better than reckless cuts to the best functioning parts of our government.
Economy & Business
I’m committed to protecting workers, ensuring fair wages, responsibly regulating new technology, and expanding housing so our economy works for everyone.
Regulate AI
As the private sector plows full steam ahead in this field, we must always remember that AI is being trained on a mountain of human contribution and copyrighted material. People's work should not be used for such training without compensation. The government should also monitor and enact safeguards with respect to AI's impact on the environment and water consumption.
Support Labor Unions
Almost everything we enjoy about work-life in the United States, is a result of the literal blood, sweat, and tears of labor unions. They don't always have to win every dispute with management, but we must protect their right to fight those battles.
$10 Minimum Wage
The federal minimum wage should be much higher, but it has been stuck at $7.25 for FAR too long. Let us at least start with a bump up to double-digits, and fight for $15 at the next juncture of this fight.
Build Housing
The Federal Government should support and champion policies which make it easier to create a housing surplus, and thus, affordable housing, in America. This is especially important in our largest urban markets.
Immigration
ICE Officers must identify themselves
ICE Officers are engaging in a reign of terror, picking up people up off our streets while masked and without badges or proper identification. This is ripe for exploitation not just by ICE, but by people impersonating ICE for their own purposes.
This country is built on law and order. Even the law mist abide by some sense of order.

Strong Visa Program for High Need Industries
Strict but generous employment visas for high-need industries such as for nursing home caretakers, which are and will continue to be in great needs as our Baby Boomer generation continues to age.
